“We enjoyed our stay at The Oakwood very much. We were very satisfied with the recently renovated place and overall stylish design of the unit. The beds were comfortable and the place was very clean. The place has a nice office desk which was handy for some office work I had to do. Also don’t forget to enjoy the massage chair. Light up a bonfire to enjoy some marshmallows (although there is no BBQ on site), play a board game, watch a movie, listen to some uplifting music and enjoy all the great outdoor activities you find in and around Calabogie. As you don’t pay for a cleaning fee, we’ve done our best to clean up the place for the next lucky guests to enjoy this place. We truly enjoyed our Summer experience at The Oakwood in Calabogie and would not hesitate to come back to The Oakwood in the future to explore even more of this beautiful vacation spot.”

“We absolutely LOVED this cottage. Perfect distance from Ottawa, super clean and close to lots of fun stuff. We were 2 adults and 4 kids and had a ton of space. Check in was seamless with the lock box, and lots of instructions and notes were indicated throughout. Definitely bring a bug lamp and spray if you’re not used to country living- we had both and were fine. Hoping we can come back for longer next time!”

Logview and Peaksview 2019
Just a note to say kudo’s to you and your team at Peaks View Chalets for making our June 21, 2019 “Family reunion” such a success. The accommodations  exceeded expectations in every way. Your suggestion to take the 2 adjoining chalets ( Peaks View and Log View) was spot on. Peaks View afforded us a great place to serve meals  on the large table just off the well equipped galley kitchen and the oversized deck served as our oasis for everything from quite chats to spirited dancing after suppers. While both chalets  afforded an upscale rustic experience that lacked nothing in amenities with access to ATV trails, the beach and golfing, I have to say that I keep thinking about Log View with it’s hand pegged wide plank pine floors to the chinked log walls. What a place for a romantic get away in the fall, with a photographers palette of colors waiting out side and a warm fire inside it would be like stepping into a Harlequin romance novel. Family members from the West coast commented that with the ski hill in sight of the chalet and only minutes away from the chair lifts a winter get away at Log View would rival staying in Whistle, BC  but without the cost. All this and only an hours drive from Ottawa.

We highly recommend this cottage- loads of space and great amenities. Everything about it was easy and convenient which isn't always the case with rentals! The downstairs bedroom is a great teenage pad and the house provides many areas for guests to spread out and enjoy. Randy and Larry were great hosts and always available via phone or email. We felt very welcomed the moment we arrived to find chocolate on the table! K&P trail is scenic and awesome for biking and nice hiking across the way up to eagle's nest. We love the calabogie area and Ottawa heritage radio completed the ambiance for the adults. We will be back!

Another excellent experience at Lakeview Chalet! The chalet was spotless on arrival and was well stocked with all amenities. We were so happy with all the little extras we found throughout our stay like toys for our children and a huge selection of DVD's and board games. The beds were so comfortable and there was a great selection of different pillows to choose from. We will definitely be back again next year and would highly recommend this property!

Logview 2017 
I booked the Logview Cottage for our Thanksgiving weekend. The cottage is beautiful, very clean and well equipped. I have rented cottages in the past, but Logview surpassed them all. We went for walks, drives and we even got to fish. My grandson enjoyed the air hockey and football game tables. The weather was good, except for a bit of rain. Hopefully we will be back next year.

Dear Randy and Larry, Joe and I had a wonderful time staying at your cottage. Although the weather was a bit of an issue, we still had a relaxing and enjoyable time. We would like to thank you for the gift of Champagne and Chocolates…….that was very thoughtful and appreciated by both of us. Also, we would like to say that your decorating for Christmas was lovely and your choice of excellent quality appliances b.b.q. and kitchen accessories etc. does go along way to enhancing the experience.

Just a quick note of thanks for the long weekend rental of the Peaksview Chalet. The four of us really enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean and orderly, and in particular, I appreciated all the thought that has clearly gone into the chalet to make it relaxing, easy, and comfortable for guests. We all felt at home immediately.

Hi Randy.    We are just back from the lakeview cottage.  It was great!  Thank you for the lovely setting and we really appreciated the well equipped kitchen.  The kids loved the toboggans (as we had forgotten to bring ours).

 

Thanks Randy. This was our second stay, our first being last March in your chalet near the ski hill. We enjoyed both very much. This one was perfect for just my husband and I. A lovely getaway. The first one was better suited for families, especially in winter on account of the proximity to the ski hill and the games room. Good to have the variety of choices with your various properties. Were impressed as last time with the cleanliness and with how well equipped the chalet was. Thanks again,

Good Evening Randy & Larry,

We can’t tell you enough how much we loved the Peaksview Chalet when we stayed for the Calabogie Rib & Blues Fest a couple weeks ago. Although the weather was not the greatest, we had a wonderful time with our friends who also loved the event and the chalet and we want to make it an annual thing now. I especially loved all the little “extra touches” you left out like the chocolates, which we devoured!, the napkins and what a thoughtful gesture to leave the toothbrush and paste in the bathroom cabinet! You sure made it feel like home.

Very nice chalet and cozy I felt like home me and my husband was very happy for the staying

  Cannot stress enough how perfect your cottage was for all of us!

  Hi Randy;   Thank you for the wonderful opportunity of renting the chalet this past weekend.  It was exactly the relaxing getaway that Earl and Nathan and I needed.  Unfortunately the weather was not the warmest but we still made it down to the dock daily to teach the little guy how to fish and to sit and relax.

 Thank you so much - the chalet was lovely! Great view of the peaks too. I think the kids outnumbered the adults at the party - everybody had a great time and the location was perfect. Brendan was pretty impressed with the "indian teepee" out back. Calabogie has definitely changed since I was there - the Porsche's in the parking lot at the Peaks outnumbered the "regular" cars.

We'll definitely keep the chalet at the top of our list when we're heading back that way and have already recommended it to a number of others.

 We wanted to let you know that our stay at Peaksview Chalet from Feb 23-25 was fantastic.

The chalet was more than we ever imagined. Not only was it clean and well equipped with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable, but the view and the sunlight that streamed through the large open windows was phenomenal.

We enjoyed our time playing some of the board games in the chalet, hiking on local trails, and building warm fires in the woodstove. We found our stay incredibly relaxing and comfortable. We are eager to return to your chalet over the next year to enjoy the area throughout the different seasons.

Thank you very much for renting your chalet to us and offering us a little haven away from the city. You'll definitely hear from us again, as we find ourselves already trying to plan our next getaway...

  It was fantastic! One of the comments upon arrival was, " it is even more beautiful than the pictures", and truly is is a special place. I overcame my apprehension and even tried downhill skiing once again, after viewing the hill all week how could I not try it.

Jim and I enjoyed the tranquility for the week and the group of women who arrived on Friday had nothing but praise for the beauty of the location and of the chalet.

We most certainly will return if you will have us and will recommend your home to our friends.

We absolutely loved the place...it was so quiet and peaceful...just what we needed. 

  Boy, when you said everything is included except for linen, towels and food, you weren't kidding!!!  We were touched by the Christmas decorations, lights and the "Welcome" gift.  They were a wonderful surprise.   Scott was happy to find the axe in the basement...he was in his element chopping extra kindling and smaller chunks for the woodstove.  We kept it going for the whole time we were there because of the weather.   We definitely intend to go back...this time with the gang (our 4 teenaged/young adult children) if they can swing it.  How fast does it book up in the summertime?   I have already been telling lots of people about your wonderful chalet.   Thank you for the opportunity to stay in Peaks Chalet.   Cheers,   Janice

The area around the chalet is great. It stopped raining long enough for us to do the short hike up to Eagle's Nest - the view was amazing! Thanks for renting us your cottage, we had a great week!

We enjoyed playing many of the games you had at the cottage. Our eldest is just old enough now to play along, we bent the rules a little for Sarah the 4 year old!

Calabogie beach was nice, we rented a kayak for a day, I spotted a loon, a turtle and a Blue Heron. We enjoyed visiting Burnstown (I had to get my cafe au latté fix).

We got all dressed up to go to the Duck restaurant on Tuesday night to find out they are closed on Tuesdays, so we ate in Renfrew.

So we'll have to come back to eat at the Duck sometime!

The chalet was a real treat again this year! The weather was perfect and the ski conditions the best we have had at Calabogie. Packing is a lot easier when you don’t have to bring all the extras. Hi Randy   We enjoyed our three days at your chalet immensely.  The weather wasn't the greatest, raining quite a bit, but the chalet is lovely and made the indoor time very enjoyable and comfortable.   We arrived to find the cottage very clean and welcoming.  We had no problem locating anything and all worked perfectly-the woodstove, the dishwasher (wonderful!), stove, bbq, water cooler (fantastic!), plenty of hot water, etc.  I could tell that you enjoyed the cottage very much yourself and wanted to have everything set up to ensure the pleasantest of stays for those who rent your cottage. 

Thank you.  The choice of wines was a surprise and welcome touch.  The cottage is quiet and private, in fact we seldom saw anyone.

  The surrounding area is beautiful.  Such a lovely view from the front of the cottage.  We were able to enjoy several of the trails when it wasn't raining, including the Eagle's Nest-wow!!!  To think that we didn't even realize there was a Calabogie in our province until I found your site.  So glad that we discovered you and the area.   Thanks again for sharing the Peaksview Chalet.   Anne

We loved Peaksview Chalet, it was a perfect getaway from Ottawa. One of us commuted to work and the drive was a breeze.

Chalet is incredibly well laid out and even better equipped – just bring food and everything you have at home is already there (and more!). The deck was nice, large and perfect for star gazing at night. Chalet is really close to amazing hiking trails and is really close to the beach.

We cannot wait to come back in the winter and again next summer! Everything was exactly like it looked on the pictures and even better!

We all had a great time at your Chalet. Everyone was quite impressed with the cleanliness, size, and amenities provided. It certainly was a great help with water and other household supplies (paper towels, cutlery, plates, glasses, etc) being provided. As it was, our vehicle was packed to the brim with food, clothes and other things we needed during the week.

All in all,  we would love to come back someday and spend another relaxing week.  Weather was great when we were there so we couldn't ask for more.  Oh, and the Duck restaurant at the Lodge was fantastic (we decided to give ourselves a break from cooking and cleaning on our last night there), great food.  Thanks for a great week.

Randy: the gals and I are already planning a third visit to Peaksview, next winter. This is becoming an annual retreat for us: we call it the Spa-de-dah retreat (which is mostly just lah-de-dah talk for a weekend without husbands, computers, pets'n'kids--you know the drill!).

Arriving for our second visit was like coming home.

You and your co-owner(s) have done a lovely job and I hope you get to spend as much time there as you want, too!

On Sunday morning after the big snowfall, two of us went outside to shovel. I had done half the driveway when someone came and plowed the rest. Now, Peaksview is so well equipped that I was sure the lane would be blown clear by someone you hired, but the snow was so light and the morning so engaging that we just had to get out and do something in it.

All of the little extras were what made the difference. ( the well equipped kitchen, videos, stereo etc.) The view out our front window allowed me to watch the guys as they skied. They would radio me and I could grab the binoculars, (another nice touch!) and I would watch them come down! As I said, I logged a lot of time in there last week and it really couldn't have been more comfortable. We look forward to renting from you again.

Thank you so much for everything. It was so thoughtful of you to leave us a bottle of sparkling wine. It came in very handy on New Year's Eve. The bottle was so pretty that we brought it home with us to make a candle holder out of it.

We really enjoyed our stay at Peaksview Chalet. The chalet is incredibly well equipped. We went a many walks on the trails in the woods. I picked a few of your business cards and have begun handing them out to friends who may be interested in renting.

We enjoyed the chalet and the services provided.  We had a lovely hike and did not see any hunters!! I thought the chalet was very well equipped  and  offered a great tranquil  setting. I would not hesitate to recommend the chalet to my clients as a retreat for a bit of R and R or an alternative to a hotel accommodation for golf or skiing. I think it is well located with easy access from Ottawa or other areas linked to the major highways in the Calabogie region. I also enjoyed the view from the balcony  and the living room. -Fred

Thank you for having such a nice place. The weather cooperated and the kids enjoyed most of the week skiing at the Peaks. We enjoyed our stay and expect we will consider the Peaksview Chalet the next time we want a get away from the city. It took a little while to get use to not having a phone, especially when our cell phones were just out of range. Sure saved us a bundle when it came to the Pay TV that was available through the Bell ExpressVu.
